privacy & disclaimer
How this website handles information, what it is and is not for, and our commitment to accessibility. Effective November 20, 2026.
website privacy notice
This notice explains how centerofgravitypsychotherapy.com (the "website") handles information. It is operated by Elisabeth Ritter, LCAT, R-DMT, doing business as Center of Gravity Psychotherapy ("we", "us").
This notice covers the website only. If you become a client, how your health information is used and protected is described in the separate Notice of Privacy Practices you receive at intake, as required by HIPAA.
what we collect
- Nothing through forms. This website has no contact forms, accounts or sign-ups.
- Basic, anonymous visit statistics. We may use a privacy-focused analytics tool that counts page views and general information like browser type and country. It does not use cookies or identify you personally.
- Standard server logs. Our website host processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- What you choose to send us. If you email or call, we receive whatever you share, such as your name, email address or phone number.
what we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
- We do not use advertising trackers, retargeting pixels or tracking cookies.
- We do not use what you send us for marketing.
email, phone and messages
Email and phone are not fully secure ways to share sensitive information. Please do not include clinical details, diagnoses or crisis information when you first reach out. Simply let us know you are interested, and we will follow up. Once you are a client, clinical communication takes place through secure, HIPAA-compliant systems.
booking and other websites
Booking, intake, scheduling and billing are handled by Alma, our practice partner. When you follow a booking link, you leave this website, and Alma's own privacy policy applies. The same is true of any other website we link to, including our Instagram and LinkedIn pages.
children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Therapy for teens begins with a parent or guardian.
how long we keep information
Messages from people who do not become clients are kept only as long as needed to respond, then deleted. Client records are kept as New York State law requires.
your choices and questions
You can ask what information we have from you, or ask us to delete messages you have sent, by contacting [email protected]. We may update this notice from time to time; the effective date at the top will change when we do.
disclaimer
not for emergencies
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 24/7) or text HOME to 741741. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Messages to this practice are not monitored around the clock.
no therapist–client relationship
Visiting this website, reading its content, emailing or calling does not create a therapist–client relationship. That relationship begins only after an intake, a mutual agreement to work together, and signed consent.
information, not treatment
Everything on this website is for general information and reflection. It is not therapy, diagnosis or medical advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Every person's situation is different, and no particular result is promised.
who can be seen
Elisabeth Ritter is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) in New York State. Services are provided by secure video only to clients who are physically located in New York State at the time of each session.
other websites and organizations
Links to outside organizations are offered as a courtesy. They are not endorsements, and we are not responsible for their content, services or privacy practices.
accessibility
We want this website to be welcoming and usable for everyone. It is designed to work with screen readers and keyboard navigation, to keep text readable against its background, and to respect your device's reduced-motion setting by turning off animation.
If anything on the site is hard to use, or you would like information in another format, please contact [email protected] or call (347) 778-1989, and we will help.
